Morning runs are like black coffee. It tastes bitter but you know you need a pick me up! But this morning fun run offers a Jamba Juice discount. Join Chicago Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP-Chicago), sponsored in part by Jamba Juice (State and Randolph) for a weekday morning run to the Shed Aquarium!

We will start promptly at 6:00 am on Thursday, Apr 12th. Please arrive early for stretching. Leave your gear inside the Jamba Juice store next to the Gene Siskel Film Center. The run will be very informal. Run at your own pace, turn around at any time. Have fun enjoying the scenic run.

Route:
Start at State & Randolph.
East on Randolph to Michigan
South on Michigan to Monroe
East on Monroe to Lakeshore path
South on Lakeshore path to the Shed
Est 3.6 miles round trip

Why run in the afternoons/evenings dodging tourist, annoying cyclists with their bright & blinding strobe lights, and pedestrians that think they own the Lakeshore path? Run with us in the morning and enjoy the sunrise! We do promote proper hygiene. Please leave yourself enough time for hygiene prior to work. This event is ideal for people who work from home, or their work building has a shower facility.

The University of Michigan hosts this year’s Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association (ITASA) Midwest conference, the largest gathering of the Taiwanese American collegiate community!

They hope to “spark” Taiwanese Americans to not only explore their identities as Taiwanese Americans but to also explore their true passions and dreams in life. They also hope to emphasize to their participants that establishing strength in one’s social, cultural, and political identity will only benefit them in their future pursuits. After all, a “spark” is only the beginning.

Scholarship to Attend the ITASA Midwest Conference

Chicago Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP- Chicago) is offering three $75 to $100 merit-based scholarships to students from Illinois schools attending the 2012 ITASA Midwest conference at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, April 6th-8th. Undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in universities/colleges within the State of Illinois are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Applicants should submit the following information to scholarship@tapchicago.org by Saturday, March 31st, 11:59PM CST for consideration:

- Resume or short bio
- Answer to the questions:
… “Why do you want to attend the ITASA Midwest conference?” (100 words or less) and
