Take a Stance Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault!

Check out this PSA in support of The Center For The Pacific Asian Family. Among the YouTube stars, you’ll see some recognizable Taiwanese Americans including Phil Wang & Ted Fu of Wong Fu Productions, Vanness Wu of Taiwanese boy band F4, and singer-songwriter Dawen among many of our YouTube friends.

Take a stance against domestic violence and sexual assault. It affects every community, including our own unfortunately. Chances are someone you know, a family member or friend, is suffering silently.

Go to http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charities/890329 and add your vote so that this organization can win $1 million dollars to continue the good fight.

Haitian Earthquake Relief

On behalf of the staff of TaiwaneseAmerican.org, our hearts go out to the people of Haiti in the immediate aftermath of January 12th’s 7.0 magnitude earthquake. It has caused mass devastation and the death tolls are still unknown.

Haiti may seem a world away, but keep in mind that it is one of 23 nations that have diplomatic ties to Taiwan. We hope you might consider donating to support relief efforts.

In March 2008, our Taiwanese American medical association (NATMA) was on a medical mission to give free care to the people of Haiti. We anticipate that NATMA will be rallying efforts once again. I have been informed that this is currently in progress. In support, any straight donations made to TaiwaneseAmerican.org between Jan 13-17 will be forwarded in full to NATMA. (This route is not tax-deductible)

Look for the donation bar on the right side of this webpage.

Here is an evolving list of other ways to donate or support relief efforts:
