Asian American Scholarships in Health Care Industry

United Health Foundation and PacifiCare Foundation fund Asian-American Scholars Program offering two $5,000 Gold Scholarships and one $10,000 Platinum Scholarship for bilingual and bicultural Chinese- and Korean-speaking students who are pursuing careers in the health care industry.

In order to qualify, applicants must be college freshmen or sophomores and have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.8 or higher. In addition, applicants must show proof of acceptance or full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university or technical school in an approved health care program and must be fluent in Chinese or Korean, in addition to English. Tsunah Foundation's Youth Culture Tour Application Available!


The Tsunah Foundation has launched its Eighth Youth Culture Tour to Taiwan program. This is a great opportunity for young Taiwanese Americans who are at least 18 years old, and were born and/or grew up outside of Taiwan to get to know more about their motherland.

The total tour lasts eleven days from 12/22/06 - 1/1/07.

The deadline for the enrollment is October 31, 2006. However, it is strongly recommended that interested people register as soon as possible due to limited availability.

Q&A with the Ambassador of Taiwan to Switzerland

The TAP, TUF, the Formosa Foundation, and NATWA II invite you to attend a private Dialogue and Q&A with the Ambassador of Taiwan to Switzerland, Rex Shih-Rong Wang. This event is an opportunity meet an international Taiwanese leader in a personal, relatively intimate setting. Drinks & appetizers will be served afterwards. The Honorable Wang will speak about his experiences and life in Geneva as ambassador for Taiwan.

FAPA YPG Taiwan Mayoral Election Observation Tour


Tour dates: December 3–11, 2006

Are you passionate about promoting Taiwan’s freedom, yet wondering how much you really know about the island nation’s political processes? Witness Taiwan’s democracy in action! Join FAPA YPG’s first ever election observation tour! Not only will you deepen your understanding of Taiwan’s situation, you will form friendships and exchange ideas with those who live it daily. At FAPA YPG, we believe that effective advocacy begins with education. Thus, we hope to see you in Taiwan!

FAPA YPG will bring 20 second generation Taiwanese Americans and non-Taiwanese on an electoral observation mission to Taiwan—specifically Taipei and Kaohsiung—during the mayoral elections in December 2006. Attendees will visit governmental and non-governmental organizations, participate in open discussions with college students and young adults, join local election rallies, visit campaign headquarters and meet government officials.
